Being Affectionate & Gentle
I must say Sher is generous with her affection, likes to shower hugs and kisses to everyone. Quite sometime back, she even ask me to lean on her shoulder so that she could comfort me (I was pretending to cry). Such a sweet lit' girl!
Just the other day, I saw her hugging and kissing her pooh bear and duckie before we stepped out of the house. She even told them that "I'm going out hor, you stay at home. Wait for me." (Earlier, she asked me whether she could bring duckie out, but I refused.)
There's also an empatic side of Sher as she could comfort us when we are hurt. For eg. Daddy hurt his knee and Sher hurried over and tried to 'sayang' the wound, blowing at it, trying to ease his pain. She's also gentle to babies and pets. Last week, our friends brought their Shih Tzu, Mashi to our place and our princess became the lit' carer, feeding Mashi water and playing with her. (pics updated below)

Standing up for herself
Recalled an incident that happened during Mother's Day, we went out earlier than usual for the dinner celebration and let sher have fun at the nearby playground. She was playing under our supervision. As she was climbing up the slide, there's a boy about 5YO who is squeezing his way, trying to go 1st before shervon.
I was quite surprised when my girl immediately retorted: "Don't push Shervon!" The boy was shocked for a moment and let her go 1st. Indeed, she has learned to be able to stand up for herself.

Speaking Singlish... Lao Gong
Noticed that Sher's conversation is peppered with dosage of singlish and I'm trying very hard to correct her. Just last evening, I overheard a funny conversation between her Grandpa & herself.
S: (Pointing to a photograph) tis 1 ur father huh??
GP: Yes, my father... u called him Lao Gong (Great-grandpa in Teochew)
S: Tis 1 Lao Gong ah? (sounds like 老公)
Everyone laughing out loud... so funny!

Got tagged on.. Meaning of Shervon
Got tagged by Wenzel's mama to elaborate the meaning of Shervon's name.. How did we come about tis name for our princess? It's so simple cos I had a friend going by that name, or shall I say acquaintant but we tweaked the spelling of "SHEVON"/Shvonne by addin a R for easier pronounciation as we S'porean tend to pronouce it if there's 1. But I still hear people saying it weirdly. Initially, I preferred the name Nicole but Daddy was against it as he felt it sounded like Nicoll Highway which coincide with Nicoll Highway incident.
We find that the meaning of gaelic-origin name was indeed what I felt throughout my pregnancy journey, "GOD IS GRACIOUS", we felt truly blessed as Shervon was God's gift to us. She's a pleasant surprise to us and we subsequently embraced parenthood.
As for Chinese name, Jie Ling was borrowed from my secondary classmate. I told Daddy about it and he quite like the name. So, lazy us.. gotten such ways to name our princess.

Teeth Grinding
Every night without fail, teeth grinding (Bruxism) is part of Sher's sleeping habit. Apparently, stress and hyperactive is the stated cause of bruxism. Although, it's not an urgent cause of concern but looks like a trip to the dentist is necessary.

We love kids for their honesty and of cos, it comes with lots of laughter if ya know what I mean.
Owning up on farting
S: Mummy, Sher put-put (farted) so smelly, fanning her hand near her nose, smelly or not?
Doing Big Biz on her potty
S: Mummy, Sher poo-poo plenty, so stinko..
AT nite, wearing her diapers
S: (Standing) Sher wee-wee on the pampers (dunno y she refused to lie down when she's peeing w diapers on & we can't touch her when she's peeing)
When she's at her worst behaviour, tis is what I tell her...
M: If you don't stop shouting, the Karang Guni man will hear you.. he will catch you away.
S: I dun want... (fear in her eyes)
M: You have to be very quiet, ok?

Bemused...
Now, whenever I make a blunder, Shervon will laugh out loud (rotfl kind). Sometimes, it was purely to tease me and most times, she pretend to laugh hysterically. My, my..where did she learn it from?

Mummy's Joy
Mummy: What a pleasant surprise last nite when u acknowledged me once I entered the house, made my heart melt like honey, leavin sweet memories forever... U were so adorable most times but tis is the 1st time you called me by your own. And I could see your face brightened up the moment you see me, making my day splendid.
