Book Sale & JL Sale at Expo
After spotting the advert posting last Saturday on the Warehouse Books Sale by Times which happened at Expo, I told hb about my plans to travel down on the other side of island. Surprisingly, he never shoot down my idea and we actually went down right after he came back from his meeting. (He had a meeting earlier at his office on a Sunday, next Sun will be another unrest day for him as he will be involved in an event.)
For the JL Sale, most of the items we bought were for my 2 precious. 2 set of beddings, a pair of shoes for Sher, working shirts for hb. The only item I bought for myself is a pair of earrings which costed less than 4 bucks. Then, we moved on to the Warehouse Book Sale. Grabbed some nice and interesting books which included a lift-a-flap book for Sher. The sale was quite irresistable although the condition of some books were quite bad, which I thought was a pity. Hb ended up dragging me out of the expo hall as I was still deeply engrossed with locating more books. :P After which, we went down for a late dinner at the famous Bedok Bar Chor Mee. Sher had similar food preference as her daddy and loved the noodle so much that she finished her food at record time.

  My sweet little Girl
Sher is a doll most times.. she will display her sweet and sensitive side and always willing to help out when you ask her to. She likes to remove/replace VCD/DvD when we are watching movie at home, be her daddy's sidekick aka remote control. Since helper left, she's quite independent as she does most things on her own. ie. Changing into her PJ/clothings, pour herself a cuppa water, helping herself with snacks, practising her writing & drawing. But there are times where she would prefer me to help her, like me to pamper her. She likes to help her grandparents when they are hanging/keeping the laundry. Generous with hugs/cuddles & kisses.
And I'm surprised that the past few days, she volunteered to put on the eye-patch herself, no whining or anything. I must say I'm beaming with her progress. Thumbs up for my brave girl!

  SUPER FAMILY
My cheeky girl likes to say ,"Daddy is superman, Mummy is superwoman and I'm SUPERGIRL!!" I find this rather amusing when she said this, looks like we are the Super Family. :D And she said this statement with such conviction that I thought it's super cute!!

  Dress-Up
I always hear peole telling me that having a girl is wonderful as you can dress her up with so many variety, be it dresses, skirts, skorts, capris, shorts, pants, jumper.. not forgetting the different range of wide collection of each category which I mentioned. I could'nt agree more. As a hardcore shopper, this is one past-time that I love.. SHOPPING for my darling.. I heart shopping online especially where we are spoilt with so much choices. But I also try to be a savvy shopper as I usually buy when the prices are slashed. And I try to stretch the mileage like buying pants which she wore as capri and eventually shorts.. my super slim girl's waist doesn't seem to add on inches which explains why clothing can last so long.

One good thing about shopping online is I could shop anytime I want, no time limit and sizes are stated there, if it's out of stock I will know immediately.. so no point drooling over it. And also the older collection's prices are slashed to make way for new collection. Ok, ok I know I'm diverting from my topic.. back to dress-up... I usually buy Sher's clothing at Old Navy and Gymboree from the US. Mostly, I will tag on to Lina's spree. :P And I love shopping during holiday trips where there's a lot more choices to choose from. For shoes, I usually patronise Collette which have a cute collection of Mary Janes, sandals. And what great joy to see that she likes the stuff I bought for her.

  Happy Father's Day!
We celebrated in advance two Sundays back as dear hubby needed to go on a roadtrip for his work this week. Two parts of mini celebration as we went for a cosy dinner at bukit Timah area with the extended family. No photos though cos we were busy eating away, the food was awfully superb. Ordered quite a feast, black pepper crabs, cereal prawn ball, signature toufoo, prawn paste chicken and few other dishes. I don't mind going there another time and this might shortlisted in our list of regular eat-out aka makan places.

Part II celebration was just the trio of us, we went out to Sun with Moon at The Central. No photos again as Hubby forgot to bring the camera out. Plucky girl kept pestering the waiting staff to refill her cup with water. Total damage was 100+ . But we did have a good time just dining together as a family. After which we had a stroll along the river.

Saw this nice poem that I would like to share.. both poems dedicated to my dearest girl & hubby!

Daddy's Little Girl
You're the end of the rainbow, my pot of gold,
You're daddy's little girl to have and hold.
A precious gem is what you are,
You're mommy's bright and shining star.
You're the spirit of Christmas, my star on the tree,
You're the Easter bunny to mommy and me.
You're sugar you're spice, you're everything nice,
And you're daddy's little girl.
You're the end of the rainbow, my pot of gold,
You're daddy's little girl to have and hold.
A precious gem is what you are,
You're mommy's bright and shining star.
You're the treasure I cherish so sparkling and bright,
You were touched by the holy and beautiful light.
Like angels that sing a heavenly thing,
And you're daddy's little girl.
You're the treasure I cherish so sparkling and bright,
You were touched by the holy and beautiful light.
Like angels that sing a heavenly thing,
And you're daddy's little girl.

"A Father Just Like You""
I just want you to know you mean the world to me,
Only a heart as dear as yours would give so unselfishly.
The many things you've done,
all the times that you were there,
helps me know deep inside how much you really care.
Even though I might not say,
I appreciate all you do,
Richly blessed is how we feel having a father just like you."

  Complain Queen
It happened yesterday at dinner. As usual, Sher is the last one at the dinner table, struggling to finish her food. Mil was telling me to let sher eat her last mouthful as the portion was bigger than usual. I was sitting beside her, monitoring her to finish up. But I continued to feed her, coaxing her to eat although I intend to let her finish the last mouthful. Then, Sher exclaimed,"Ah Ma (Grandma), Mummy never listen to you!" Mil and I glanced at each other and had a good laugh.

So my girl sure know how to complain and she has been doing it for quite awhile.

  Books, books & More Books..
Purchase of books has been a monthly affair for me but I have difficulty in finding a good spot to store all her books collection. We have a limited space in storing her books.. planning to discuss with her grandparents to store these in the living area. Storage within the bedroom is out of question as his daddy's tons of books are all on the shelves.

Just ordered from wonderbox.com.sg which I have stumbled on while sourcing for more variety of books. I'm getting bored reading the same story nightly which sher loves, wanted more variety so that she could enjoy other stories too. Anyone can recommend website for pop-up books without burning a hole in my pocket?

  IT'S BARNEY SHOWTIME!
It's been a long awaited day for Sher, who was full of anticipation for the show. To the 3 YO girl, Barney was her idol, her most respected character in the universe! My little girl was so star-struck & exhilarated when the curtain unveiled and there appeared the purple dino that she was dumbfounded, her eyes fixed on him without even blinking. Tis time round, we did not sit as close to the stage as the hi-5 show a year ago. But, I could still see my little girl enjoying herself which was what my utmost wish. I even purchased the Barney set merchandise which comprises a Barney Tee, a Barney slide torch and a magic egg. Also bought sher a vest. The happiest person on that day must be my darling daughter.

After the show, we met up w C for dinner at the HK Cafe at Marina Square. Sher was all cranky and threw tantrum as she did not take her afternoon nap. And it was no fun carrying a toddler around the mall. We left shortly after dinner.

  Eye Check-up
Yesterday was Sher's bi-annual eye check-up at KKH. As usual, the 'lively' girl was hyped up. While we were waiting for her turn to do her visual testing, she kept popping her head into the testing room. Then, she even approached the nurse and asked whether it's her turn yet. Just a part of the conversation--->

Sher (asking the nurse in the rm): Is it my turn yet?
Nurse: Oohh.. what is your name?
Sher: Shervon Teo Jie Ling
Nurse (looking thru the file records): Let me check, Shervon Teo Jie Ling..
Sher: Yes
Nurse: ok, come follow me.
Sher: ok (Then, she walked behind the nurse to another room)

In the end, the nurse brought her to another visual testing room and proceeded the check with her. She managed to cut queue cos in the end, we did not wait at rm 15 as advised instead. So, tis little girl is bold enough to approach people. Hope this trait will follow her throughout her life, that she will not be afraid to ask, to learn and to make friends.
