  Parent-Teacher Meet Session
I rushed home after work on Tues for the Parent-Teacher session. Overall, both her teachers commented that Sher is a pleasant girl, sensitive and well-liked by her peers. She make friends easily. She had adjusted well at school, making improvement. Think the routine has rooted into her and she knows that school days are Mon-Fri. They also commented that she preferred boys to girls as playmate. She got all C in her progress card. 'C' means satisfactory. I must thank the teachers for their patience & effort esp during mealtime.. as Sher is always difficult with it.

She always like to hang out with 4 boys at class. And, her classmate, Glenn even named her as his girlfriend.

  A DaY @ ThE BeAcH
We took advantage of the cOOl weather and headed down to the beach at East Coast Park yesterday. We had a nice surprise as we saw a part of the beach converted to sandcastle galore and miniature castle, architectural building rimming the sandy area. It was a break away from the busy city as we felt the sea breeze, made me discover that life can also be slower yet fulfilling. Managed to stroll along the lapping waves and this time round, sher was bolder to put her feet into the water. Had fun with Daddy on the sandy beach while I chatted up with my mother-in-law on the beach front. She even let her Daddy covered her up with sand till her knees.

We had the usual hawker fare for our lunch & dinner. It was overall a nice relaxing day. We even suggested having the whole gang including our nephews to have a picnic here.

  I'm down with the bug
I'm battling the flu virus since Tues, was on MC yesterday and my nose was like a running tap. I was so afraid of passing this on to Sher n hb. Today's much better but my nose is still congested.

Last night, due to my virus attack and my repeated attempt to get Sher to keep to her routine(drinking her milk & brushing her teeth to prepare for bedtime). I finally lost my temper at her stubborness, lashing at her and threatened to cane her if she don't follow suit. She cried and whined, whimpering softly while proceeded with the routine. How I wish she could be understanding and co-operate while I nursed my persistent flu. It doesn't help that hb was studying too. Usually, sher will push her limit when it comes to me. It's an entire different story when it comes to her Daddy. She knows her daddy mean business when he gave her warning while I'm usually tried to give her leeways.

  UnIqUe PeRsoNaLiTy & UpDaTes
She's bubbly, fun-loving and loves to tease people. Cheeky at times and loves lots of attention showered around her. Stubborn streak still persists most time. Now, she needs abit of warming up to strangers but she's still friendly. She will observe and will not take the 1st move as compared to previously. This change of personality happened after a few months in school. (See my prev post) A negotiator when it comes to what she wants and curious about everything, will persistently ask till she get an answer.

Loves: Barney, PlayDoh, Doodling, singing, play pretend, storytime, Hugs & cuddle, veggie, yoghurt, tou foo, ice-cream, pocky, raisins, soup, chocolates, prefer snacks ovr meals..

I received this from Shervon, this card was created with the help of her teachers but nevetheless, I'm quite happy to receive my 1st Mother's Day gift from my darling. We planned to celebrate at Punggol Seafood and travelled to the Eastern part of the island. We ordered 8 dishes in total include the hot seller, Chilli Crab, Fried Baby Squid, Mee Goreng, Cereal Prawn.... list goes on..
It was a different setting with the yacht club and there's even prawn fishing if you feel bored. All in all, we had a great time.

  Happy Mother's Day!!
Being a mother is definitely a tall task, a mother's love is unconditional, self-less and never-ending. And I'm proud to be a mum, it is pretty awesome to be ONE! Mum is a multi-tasker, firstly, a devoted wife to her husband, a dedicated mentor to her kids. Caring for her Family's needs, ensuring her loved ones are well protected, seeing them happy makes a Mother's day!

To all Mothers, wishing us a Happy Mother's Day!

  tHe"Why" Phase
Now, my little darling is immersed into the "why" phase.. everything and anything, she will have a why behind every question, if not why not. Sometimes, I felt she's not my little girl, more like an old lady.. And a few times, I teased her and called her an old lady... she will refuse such a remark and kept saying, "No... I'm Shervon, not at old lady."

She's also very persistent and refused to let the issue fade off, she must have an answer from you. At times, I tried to brush her off by ignoring her repeated query. This girl will insist that I answer her and will frown when I don't.

An interesting article on why kids like to ask "Why?" http://www.drgreene.com/21_564.html

My, my.. I wonder whether I'm the mummy or she is.. :P

  Monthly Affair - Funscape
As mentioned in my earlier post, my plan was to take a day off monthly to spend quality time with Sher and bring her out for a day of fun. I prefer goin out during the weekday as there's lesser crowd at public area. This is also a day where we spend time indulging each other's company. Usually, I will drop Sher at school in the am before I run some errands and I promised her that I will fetch her back after lunch.

Yesterday, I took leave and planned a day of fun for the girls with C. We headed down to Go Go Bambini @Dempsey Hill as there's an indoor interactive playscape with maze, tunnels and ballpits where the girls will enjoy. Each girl paid $15 for unlimited play while we mummies hung out and chatted, browsing through the available magazine. Upon seeing the huge playground, Sher dashed off to play. We managed to locate her after a few mins and asked her to play together w Cher. And she took Cher's hand and ran off again. The girls had a blast especially at the ballpit area where they practically got submerged by the balls, 'swimming' in it. We stayed for around 3 hours and soon, it was dinnertime. Then, we hopped over next door at Ben&Jerry Cafe for burgers/sandwiches and of cos ICE-CREAM!! The kids enjoyed themselves tremendously and I believe this trip will not be the last.
